Cath Rogan is the Principal of Smart Garment People, a boutique consulting business that helps customers make clothing “smart” and technology wearable. Starting out with a degree in Textiles and Marketing, Cath has spent over two decades developing technical fabrics and clothing for some of the world’s leading outdoor and sports brands*. More recently, her work has taken her into specialist protective clothing for chemical, biological and ballistic protection, along with wearable health and fitness monitoring.
Having helped to grow several businesses for other people, in 2006 she decided to “paddle her own canoe”, and a year later, recognising the growth potential of the emerging smart fabrics sector, she established Smart Garment People to focus on developing novel applications with advanced materials and e-textiles. Despite her passion for technology, Cath is rubbish at social media and prefers to keep in touch the old fashioned way; through RSS feeds, and Skype. She may never actually get around to tweeting.

Gary heads a function comprising seven work streams at Dwr Cymru, delivering operational services with a strong focus on asset data management and data exploitation and the application of new and emerging technologies in an industrial context including augmented and virtual reality.
Gary has worked in a wide range of industrial, offshore and service delivery environments and his expertise in Occupational Health and Safety and Risk Management has resulted in him being employed as an expert evidence in the prosecution and defence of businesses and individuals.
Gary presently leads the Dwr Cymru Welsh Water team delivering big data outputs to field based operators using ruggedised and wearable technology utilising both AR, VR and the IoT– “the right information, presented in the right way, in the timely manner at the operator’s point of use with a view to reducing risk and driving efficiency”
Iain Tait is Executive Creative Director at Wieden+Kennedy London. He works across all clients including Honda, Nike and Three, and was instrumental in helping the independent agency win landmark accounts such as Sainsbury’s (2016) and Pokémon GO creator Niantic (2017). Prior to joining W+K London, Iain was ECD at Google Creative Lab in New York. He helped launch Chromebook, introduced Google’s first ever accessories line and created Chrome Experiments to showcase the capabilities of modern web browsers. Personal highlights include the Giorgio Cam, a mobile game sound-tracked by legendary producer Giorgio Moroder.
Before Google, Iain was Global Interactive ECD at Wieden+Kennedy Portland. Notable work includes the Old Spice ‘Responses’ campaign, which created 1.4bn impressions online, making it one of the fastest-growing and most popular advertising campaigns in history, helping grow sales by 125% year-on-year.

A practising radiographer for the first part of my career, subsequently moving on to general management roles and in informatics for over the last 20 years. I was fortunate to be a clinician during the introduction of some of the early imaging modalities that used digital technology to acquire images such at computerised tomography, and beyond that to be involved in computerisation of radiology departments early in my health service career. I gained general management experience in a number of my mid-career posts before joining informatics and leading a number of institutions in various roles in this discipline.
What has been clear throughout my career and never more than now is the power that information has to help support patients & professionals to improve care. We are at a pivotal moment in history to be able to witness and influence this digital transformation in health & care. It is therefore more important than ever that we act collectively with the public to drive through the changes needed, thinking carefully about the overarching themes we adopt as we have in east London,
Mark Sage is the founder and managing director of Sagey11 Ltd. His company providers strategic and operational consulting on marketing and business development, focusing on building lasting partnerships especially for technology start-up and scale-up companies. With a background in telecoms (15 years with Orange) he has also worked with and led various Alliances and Associations. Mark is currently the Executive Director of the Augmented Reality for Enterprise Alliance (AREA). The AREA is the only global non-profit, member-based organization dedicated to widespread adoption of interoperable AR-enabled enterprise systems AREA.
With a focus on creating value and ROI for its members his goal is to develop a robust and active ecosystem for AR within the enterprise. His background includes a strong interest in mobile, AR, VR, and IoT and he is excited to work with AR customers, providers and research organizations.
Nerina Ramlakhan PhD is a physiologist who has specialised in maximising individual and organisational performance for over two decades. After completing her post-doctoral training and research into the effects of lifestyle interventions on the alleviation of mental disorders, she spent five years in corporate health screening before studying organisational psychiatry and psychology at Guys Hospital and beginning organisational consultancy, workshop facilitation and coaching.
As the original founder of BUPA’s Corporate Wellbeing Solutions, she is a regular speaker at many City groups. In April 2000, she set up her own consultancy and has worked in various industries including sport (Chelsea Football Club), legal, insurance, accountancy, management consultancy, various sections of the police services, media, investment banking, telecommunications, healthcare and pharmaceutical, oil, TV, defence, engineering and IT.
Nerina’s work with individuals and organisations includes motivational and leadership programmes at Ashridge Business School, Wellness and Energy programmes, return to work coaching following long-term sickness absence and burnout prevention. Nerina works with the Nightingale Psychiatric Hospital in London on their sleep, energy & physical health programmes that are designed to support mental wellbeing. She also runs regular sleep/energy workshops for women recovering from cancer at the Haven Centre in Fulham.

Nerina uses her academic background in physiology, philosophy and psychology to guide her teaching, but her approach is highly practical. She has a strong belief that everyone can live a healthy and more fulfilling life by tapping into and nurturing their deepest inner resources – even in these hectic, technologically driven times that we live in. Her work, both with individuals and organisations, is dedicated to helping people to create greater balance, vitality, meaning and peace.
On a personal level, Nerina has a 12yr old daughter and in her spare time climbs, runs and practises yoga and meditation. Nigel joined Airbus in 1987 as a technician apprentice and upon completion became a structures designer working on main stream design of A330/A340 and later conceptual design on FLA and A3XX (now flying as A400M and A380). In 1999 he transitioned to the Knowledge Engineering team as an ICAD developer and later team lead for the Knowledge Based Engineering team delivering design automation tools and processes. 2002 saw a move to ICT leading the Mechanical CAD product line across Airbus including a number of CAD system migrations. His current role is more UK focused as an architect in the organisation responsible for the PLM systems, this has included delivering a VR suite to the Filton site.
Airbus Operations Limited has only relatively recently started to really exploit virtual reality.
The needs which VR addresses have for decades been met by more traditional methods.
The presentation will explain the needs and the traditional approach.
It will then cover a view of the data process and the challenges that this illustrates and why this is forcing change.
It will be explained why the traditional methods are no longer suitable and the role of Virtual Reality as part of this.
It will then focus on the specific use case of the Bristol site detailing the constraints, aspirations and final solution.
Ending with a brief look at some of the lower end technologies to compliment the use of Virtual Reality as well as a brief description of where we are looking to develop.
Paul Speight joined Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service in 1988. After serving 16 years at different fire and rescue stations as a firefighter and Crew Manager, he transferred into the Community Safety Support Team as Watch Manager.
Paul has worked closely with Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Road Safety Partnership, where his successful bid for funding enabled him to develop and create the VF4 -360 film.
Paul started to look at newly emerging Virtual Reality (VR) technology which immerses wearers in totally lifelike scenarios. Spotting an opportunity to work with market leaders in this technology, he approached Samsung and First Car Magazine who jumped on board with his latest project, the VF4 360.
After the success of his first venture into the virtual world Paul was contacted by Alex Harvey from RiVR in 2016 after several meeting they have created a proof of concept VR interactive photorealistic training environment.
Paul will take you on a journey into VR over the last 18 months, specifically within the Fire Service, showing you what we have achieved and how we did it. As well as looking ahead to the not too distant future of VR and AR and the methods and practices being used to capture, create and design the training environments of the future.

Always looking to sustainability and to final customer needs,I´ve used my experience to create iconic outerwear pieces in ZEGNA SPORT and Z ZEGNA, melting my knowledge in electro technic with high performance luxury garments starting in 2006, dropping on the market new technology never saw before in the world.
Recently I´ve joined HUGO BOSS AG also to innovate and continue to create “first in the world” concepts, evolving sustainability into next level of integration in design-thinking, with passion and willing to continue my professional grow.

Sean has been working in the wearable solutions industry since 2010 and has helped to produce wearable systems for heavy industry such as aerospace, automotive and energy as well as consumer devices such as the Solos smart-glasses for cyclists. He led the development of a voice-driven operating system for the Golden-i industrial head-worn computer that was developed into multiple technologies including the Motorola HC1, the Fujitsu Head Mounted Display IOT001 and the Realwear HMT-1.
Sean is the Managing Director of Kopin Software, a subsidiary of Kopin Corporation (NASDAQ $KOPN) and is responsible for producing software systems for Kopin’s product portfolio and for Kopin’s clients. Kopin’s technologies can be found across a wide range of wearable systems including the Realwear HMT-1, Recon Jet, the Garmin Varia Vision, and many more. Sean’s day-to-day focus is working with new clients to help design requirements-driven wearable solutions using Kopin’s patented technology stack.

Having led the Trust’s transformation of IT service provision, Stephen’s current focus is on developing and executing SLaM’s future digital strategy and transforming the workforce, whilst providing real-world digital interventions in mental health and beyond through the Centre for Translational Informatics.
